Mountain Home, ID – It is with great sadness that Pioneer Federal Credit Union announces the death of Robert (Bob) Yalch, board of directors’ member. He passed Sunday, July 19, 2020 at 79 years old.
Bob served Pioneer Federal Credit Union simultaneously in multiple capacities from 2002 - 2020. Within that 18-year span, he served on Pioneer’s Supervisory Committee for a total of 15 years, on the board of Pioneer Financial Services for 6 years, and on Pioneer’s Board of Directors for 8 years until his passing.
Curt Perry, President/CEO of Pioneer remembers Bob by saying, “I joined the Pioneer team in 2002, Bob has been a fixture for the duration of my PFCU career. Over that 18 years, I had the pleasure of interacting with Bob on a monthly basis through Board Meetings, Annual Meetings, company outings, volunteer opportunities, and routine visits to the office. I already miss his sense of humor, his distinct laugh, his calm demeanor, and his steady support and guidance. He was always a pleasure, he kept things in perspective, he enjoyed life, and he worked tirelessly towards the best interests of our membership and team members alike. Our Pioneer family will miss the unique dimension and qualities that Bob added to our lives.”
Dr. Nathan Price, President of Pioneer Board of Directors stated “Bob has been an important part of our credit union family for as long as I have been involved with Pioneer Federal Credit Union. He was a kind, thoughtful and intelligent person. His experience and input have been a very valuable asset for us. Most important for me, he has been a good friend and I will miss all that he brought into our lives.”
Bob was involved in the local community as a member of the Lions Club, Relay for Life and as well as serving Pioneer in his volunteer roles. He enjoyed daily walks with his husky, Kemo Sabe, often collecting a few neighborhood dogs along the way.
Bob is survived by his wife and soulmate, Michelle, his daughters Angela (Scott) Basurto of Florence, OR, Margaret (Kelly) Oliver and Mary (George Martin) Yalch of Boise, ID, stepdaughters Toni (Eric) Abrego, Jennifer (Garret) Hawkins, stepson, Jonathan Morano and brother, Jack Yalch of Mountain Home, ID, 19 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, nephew Paul (Kim) Ruzicka and Maria Ruzicka of Quakertown, PA.
